light and dark
inks and garments

The client should be aware that
the apparel/ink colour scheme of an imprint project has a significant bearing
on the imprint cost for each item as well as the cost for the entire imprint
project. There are two basic recommended schemes (one and two
colour imprints shown)...
1. dark ink on light apparel, or...
2. light ink on dark apparel

It is possible to print light inks
on light apparel and dark inks on dark apparel, but the result can often
be rather disappointing and difficult to distinguish at a distance because
of the lack of contrast between the apparel and imprinted ink colours. On
the other hand, for some images this may be exactly what the client desires
(that is, low contrast colour schemes). In such cases, both schemes
are priced as dark ink on light apparel because light inks do not require
additional measures to be applied to light apparel, just as dark inks require
no such measures in order to imprint as desired on dark garments. Here
are some examples (the last two are the same as above, but without the flash
procedure used for light ink on dark apparel)

In general, the dark ink on light
apparel scheme (shown on left) is less expensive than the light ink on dark
apparel scheme; The light apparel costs less and does not require the
flash procedure. For details on the costs associated with imprint-apparel
colour schemes, click here to
